My school is called Adam Mickiewicz High School in Białystok. It's a high school, which requires 3 years of education, each divided into 2 terms. It's intended for people beetween 16 and 18 years old, before they go to university. The way of teaching involves gaining general knowledge, not only connected with students' main interest. Each class has some subjects in the advanced level, that depend on class profile, though.

There are three main types of profiles: polytechnic (Maths and Physics), medical (Biology and Chemistry) and humanistic (History and Polish).

In rankings, our school in Białystok seems to be quite good. Actually, it's 14th in Poland and 1st in podlaskie voivodeship. Voivodeships are provinces that Poland is divided into.

School’s patron was a very important person for Polish history. He was a famous poet of the Romantic era. He's the author of 'Pan Tadeusz' which is said to be the Polish national epopee, while Mickiewicz himself is known as the Polish national bard.
In Białystok, the school is said to be a 'monastery'. :) I guess it's because of Mrs. Złocka, our dictato... headmaster. Every time she's walking through the corridor, spreading an aura of fear, she's commanding girls to bind their hair because they are 'ugly girls'. Once they do it, they become 'kind girls'. Of course, neither make-up nor nail polish is allowed.
